Programs and services include transportation to doctorsâ appointments, outpatient services, such
as physical therapy and lab work, and personal shopping. Shepherd Center volunteers also run
errands to pick up groceries and/or prescriptions for those who are homebound. The Shepherd
Center offers a medical equipment loan program, which is one of the most requested services.
Equipment includes wheelchairs, hospital beds, walkers, canes, bath benches, as well as travel
chairs and adaptive equipment, all of which are loaned free of charge as pieces are available.

Must be 55 years of age (60 or older to receive transportation), livein the greater Kingsport area, have limited family in the area, and be physically mobile.
