The Child Care Subsidy Program provides financial assistance to eligible families to help pay for the cost of child care so they can work or attend education or training programs
How to get started:
Apply online, or screen for eligibility through CommonHelp, a self-service portal available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A video or Quick Guide for the application portal is also available.
Submit a Child Care Service Application and Redetermination Form to your local department of social services. You may also pick up an application (Spanish version) at the local department of social services, or request that one be mailed to you.
Serving:
You may need to be interviewed by a child care worker and is income based. Be a Virginia resident who is either: Actively employed;Participating in an education or training program;Receiving child protective services (CPS);Participating in an assigned activity for the Virginia Initiative for Education and Work (VIEW); orParticipating in a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment and Training (SNAPET) plan of participation
