Services of the Carter County Health Department include: WIC (Women Infants and Children), TENNderCare (including EPSD&T screenings), vital records, dental health services, environmental health, primary care, health promotion, immunizations, nutrition education, Best Start, family planning, breast and cervical cancer screening program, pregnancy testing, prenatal education classes, Child Health and Development (CHAD) services, Childrenâs Special Services (CSS), Help Us Grow Successfully (HUGS), Phenyletonuria (PKU) and thyroid tests for newborns, communicable disease services, HIV testing and counseling, and sexually transmitted disease program.
